SCIENCE, MATH, ARTS PROGRAM
The Saint Sebastian Sports Project is thrilled to partner with SMARTS, a new educational outreach program that brings the beauty of ballet and classical music to 32 second grade classrooms in the SSSP family. Each participating school offers students four, 50-minute class lessons led by a volunteer docent. The lessons consist of video, discussion and hands-on activities. The culminating event—and highlight of the program—is a field trip to see a performance of The Nutcracker.
We would like to encourage SSSP liaisons to sign up to become a SMARTS docent. This is one of the most rewarding volunteer opportunities you will experience as a liaison. The only requirement is attendance at a training session –and a commitment to lead all four classes and act as a chaperone for The Nutcracker. Enrich your life and that of your school’s children.
